"Excellent"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Oncology

(as a service user),

Chemotherapy – Suzi

Radiotherapy- Tem.

I have received excellent service from all staff in both departments.

I have been treated with respect and kindness. Sometimes not enough seats for patients as family, partners, friends take seats. I think priority seating should be for patients.

Hello

We are so pleased to hear that you felt well treated during both your radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments and thank you for taking the time to let us know this.

It sounds as though you either had or observed other patients having problems with seating. Could you let me know where this happened so that we can look into it.

Thank you

I found when the Radiotherapy department was busy....there were no seats...as people needing treatment had bought people with them.....they were occupying seats...which I think personally is unfair to people needing treatment ....perhaps a notice saying people requiring treatment takes priority over the seating....

I was very happy with the radiotherapy staff....they are a lovely bunch....

Thank you, we have passed your comments to the Radiotherapy Operations Manager.

It would seem that the radiotherapy department recently saw an unprecedented number of relatives accompanying patients while they were coming for treatment and additional seating was provided. However from your comments it would seem this was insufficient and we apologise for any discomfort and inconvenience this may have caused you.

Radiotherapy staff are being asked to be aware of unusually high numbers of relatives in the radiotherapy waiting area in future and provide additional seating should it be required.

Kind regards
