"Hysterectomy"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Gynaecology

I had a hysterectomy on 13th November once on the ward the staff were lovel but so short staffed it was awful to watch the nurses not having enough hours in the day to deal with everyone properly. I had a concern and asked for a doctor to talk to me. My consultant came late at night and frankly made me feel like I was wasting their time and I was being over dramatic! I was discharged a couple of days later and to say I have had a abdominal cut i was given no after care advice, or a follow up appointment which I find amazing after such an operation? Got told if I’m worried go to my doctors. So 3 weeks down the line I feel like I have no idea if I should be checked if I’m ok or what to do ! Normally my experience with pinderfields has been good but this time I’m very disappointed

I am sorry to read of your experience and that you were made to feel you were being "dramatic".

That is not something we would want anyone to experience when using our services.

I am concerned to note of your anxieties regarding your surgery and would encourage you to speak with your GP or 111 for advice.
