"Urgent Care Department receptionist"

About: Bishop Auckland Hospital

Tonight 2nd Dec 2017 I rang 111 to ask for advice for my poorly 11month old daughter....after information I provided an ambulance was sent to my home for the paramedics to assess her they were really doodle and very friendly and said they would like me to take her to urgent care ....provided me with a former to say they had seen her at home and to just go straight there ....however upon arriving at urgent care Bishop Auckland hospital I was greeted by the receptionist with a sigh and uh have you not rang and made an appointment? I told the receptionist that I wasn't told to do that and they said well the doctors not in so I'll have to see if they can fit you in. Off the receptionist went and came back saying the doctor will be able to see you but just a quick visit you shouldn't be sent by ambulance crew you need to ring for an appointment in a sarcastic manner so I just said well I've done as I was told by the medical professionals that looked at my daughter and if that's the case you need to tell them not me !

I went to urgent care because I was worried about my baby and I didn't expect to be treated like I was nothing but a nuisance. I will say however that the member of staff that treat my daughter was lovely and very helpful
