I experienced a horrific accident at work.
My left foot was crushed and a toe amputated in the accident and I was in a physical, emotional and psychological mess.
The team of orthopaedic consultants and my surgeon were outstanding and the level of care and attention they gave me was astonishing.
I was told that they all believed that my foot would die and that half would need amputating shortly after the initial operation, but, they fixed it and I can walk - unaided!
I don't have the words to express my sincerest gratitude.
When I thanked one of my consultants for all they had done for me, they told me not to be silly, that they had only been doing their job.
They did an outstanding job and they have been entered into my little book of heroes!
Thank you to you all.
And huge thanks to the fabulous para-medic in the ambulance, the A&E staff and of course, all the nurses.
"They saved my life. Or at least life as I had..."
