"Missed appointment due to late post"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I have just arrived home from a day out and checked my post which included a letter from Buckinghamshire Healthcare dated a week ago indicating an appointment at Dermatology for this morning (Friday). I think this letter should have had a first class stamp to ensure arrival in time at this time of year. I am unable to ring as the contact number in the letter states that opening times are; Mon - Fri 9. 00 - 16. 00

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on this website. I am sorry to read that you received an appointment letter last Friday when it was too late to attend. You mentioned the letter should have been sent first class for it to arrive on time as the appointment was only booked a week ago.


I am also sorry to read you have not been able to contact the Dermatology department due to the opening times.

I would be very grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 to talk about your specific experience, and to see how we may be able to assist you at this time.

In the meantime I will share your comments with the Dermatology Management Team.
