"Eye clinic"

About: Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust

Woke 3.30 am bad headache eye pain and eyeball going crazy swivelling really fast inducing nausea and balance problem.

Phoned nhs 111 answered about 111 irrelevant questions then told contact gp. Phoned gp 8 am called back 5.5 hrs later and told to go to eye clinic.

Mug who did what we are advised.

In future straight to a&e!

At clinic I approached desk, receptionist shoved clipboard at me said that’s your number go in there indicating waiting room.

I wanted to speak to them but they turned their back to me making it clear they didn’t want to know.

I was number 25.

I am a name not a number and there was no triage so they had no idea what was going on in waiting room. If you collapse and fall off chair may get some attention then. Beat in mind no idea what was wrong, brain tumour, blindness pain.

Got can to Hosp already using crutch struggled with walking as balance off.

No help no button to ring for assistance no self propel wheelchair.

Last one in waiting room sometime after 4.15 nice nurse took me to triage room and told them my problem.

Person in dark blue uniform came over stood next to me and said to nurse she can go home clinics closed and come back in morning!

Again not a human!

I shouted I’m not going home.

Nurse said don’t worry I’ll see if I can find a doctor which they did.

Grateful for that.

Saw doctor who said if you don’t keep your eyeball still I can’t examine it.

It had slowed down a bit by this time but I pointed out I had no control over it.

Wait approx 2 months for initial appt with neuro.
