"Parking purgatory at Royal Glamorgan"

About: The Royal Glamorgan Hospital

(as a carer),

Today I drove my father, my son and my wife to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital near Llantrisant in South Wales. I eventually had to abandon my vehicle on double yellow lines in the free to use car park because there was simply nowhere else to park, indeed cars were 'abandoned' all over the place near the car park.

Firstly i'd like to say i parked unobtrusively in said car park, so clearly in just being able to do so, the 'space' i was parked in was due to the double yellows a 'waste of space'.

Secondly i feel complaining would be pretty pointless.

Thirdly i'd like to ask why they cannnot build a multi storey. It is, i believe, because the hospital is built on a flood plain and a marsh, some forward thinking that was.

Finally it's bad enough that they decided to build the hospital where they did, but they didn't even consider the distance from many of the county's communities. Carbon footprint must have increased exponentially as a result! Why on earth wasn't it built on the old East Glamorgan site?
