"Breast Asymmetry Surgery 14.09.17 Ward 28."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Plastic surgery

Even though i was only in Hospital for 1 night, i cannot rate not only this ward but the whole hospital high enough. From the minute i walked onto my ward at 7am i was greeted and signed in by nurses, within minutes my things were taken care of and within the hour i had been seen by my surgeon and everything had been explained, all my questions had been answered and it was just a case of waiting for the porter to come collect me. even though i couldn't drink/eat, my grandma who was with me was well looked after and kept good company whilst i was in surgery. I got taken down to surgery and every single detail of what was going to happen was explained to me (they could probably tell i was a bit nervous as it was my first surgery) - then been taken back onto the ward, the nurses couldn't have done enough for me! when you're on your own overnight its so comforting to know you're surrounded by people that are so lovely. Even the nurses i saw at my 2 follow up appointments were so lovely and made me seeing my scaring for the first time that bit more bearable! thankyou so much!!

would like to thank the Doctor & all the nurses on Ward 28 for making my first ever surgery and stay in hospital as comfortable as possible. x

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I am so pleased to read of your experience and that your grandmother was also looked after by the staff.

Having any surgery can be daunting and it is encouraging to read how staff looked after you and provided you with a high standard of care.

I will pass on your lovely comments to the Ward as they will be so pleased to read what a positive impact they had on your overall care.

Thank you again, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
