"Lung cancer"

About: Broomfield Hospital

My mum went for lung surgery in Basildon after she was referred from Broomfield for surgery only, she was on her own when told she had cancer, since then the “cancer nurse has been awol” no information has been given as to what is next, they have no idea of the medication she needs, they have no clue on what’s next. After numerous phone calls I’m still waiting to hear something back. She was kicked out of hospital 1 day after surgery and was left waiting in the tea room holding the drain all her bags and the drip still in her hand. I had always thought cancer care was supposed to be top notch.. but in all honesty I have been given 100 times more information from the vet about my dog than the doctors have given my mum about the cancer

Dear Ritchie

I am very sorry to read about your mum's experience.

Can you email me your contact details: jonathan.wright@meht.nhs.uk which I can forward to the PALS team who can help.

Best wishes
