"PALS support for patient with brain injury"

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

Sent with help from my carer

I attend the L&D regularly and my husband cannot always come with me (as he works full time). I want to praise the work of the PALS team. Nothing is too much trouble. They are always kind, polite and supportive. They know I have a brain injury but they treat me with respect and never talk down to me. Although they are all frantically busy answering phones and dealing with patients who drop in.... they are always kind to me. On some occasions I have been upset when I have arrived for an appointment and on those occasions they have offered me tea and offered to share their own cakes with me (they had bought them to raise money for charity).

When I finish an appointment they look out for me in reception and rush out to offer me somewhere warm to wait. They are Incredible. All the staff in the PALS office (and I really do mean all of them) deserve praise for the outstanding work they do day-in and day-out.
