"Nottingham City Crisis Team"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult Mental Health Services - Community (City)

(as a service user),

I have found the care from this service to be disgusting. I've only ever had one positive phone call where I'm either told to go to bed or go for a walk at 2 in the morning and that was last night. However today I've been spoken to like a mug by a person that clearly didn't have my notes up on the screen the other week another person was just eating away rather loud whilst dismissing everything I was saying. It gets to the point where these people make me think about suicide just so I can see them suffer for not doing their job properly. Many staff I find are patronising and I don't see you why they do this job only to tell people to go sleep. I self harmed last night for the first time in a very long time and after today I just feel like doing worse after being mugged of by crisis teams rude staff. Feels like a shambles nothing more nothing less.

I feel that whilst having suicidal thoughts, the crisis team have left me to suffer alone day in day out. Three end the phone calls even while you are still in distress and some have no understanding of your needs as they take no time. Today I feel worthless suicidal and angry towards people.

Update posted by shabba87 (a service user)

Been using crisis team quite regularly at the moment and some of it has improved but it seems to be a specific few that don't listen and are quite patronizing. I've had some home visits that were pointless. I don't feel they offer a lot support wise and referral wise because at the moment I feel like a sitting duck.

They also need to pick up the phone - an hour in distress is not nice. I understand there are other patients but maybe have a few more staff on to deal with this load or look at having on call people as well.

Response from Matt callaghan, Team leader, City Acute Crisis Service, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Shabba87

I am glad to hear that you feel there has been some improvement to the service, but I would welcome the opportunity to speak to you and to explore those areas that you feel need improvement or further improvement.

This can provide us with the opportunity to make improvements to your care and experience, and this can then be used to improve the experience of others, and in so doing offer the best service possible to others.

I can be contacted on 0300 300 0065.

Thank you

Matt Callaghan- Team leader, City CRHTT
