"Awful care and rude staff"

About: Russells Hall Hospital / Dudley Urgent Care Centre

My son was extremely unwell with a high temperature, cough, not drinking or passing urine. I called NHS 111 who advised me to take him to the nearest urgent care centre. I was registered and saw at the desk by the nurse who listened to my concerns and took his temperature as it was so high and he was not passing urine decided to send us to paediatric a&e. Waited to be seen by the triage nurse who assessed my son and gave him some medicine to reduce his temperature. The triage nurse advised me that there were no doctors in that area to see him so he needed to go to the urgent care centre.

This is my first problem why is there an open a&e children's area with no Dr??

We go to the urgent care centre to be met with a rude receptionist. No hello or can I help you just took the paper from me and told me to sit down. The waiting area was full obviously very busy. Whilst we were waiting my son became more unwell and developed a rash. I informed reception they stated they would let a Dr know.

A Dr called us through again no hello never informed me of their name. The doctor started their investigation by first mocking me for being concerned that he had a non blanching rash and a high temp. The doctor started to examine my son getting quite annoyed that a 2 year old was upset when they were trying to force a wooden stick in his mouth. I've never experienced such a rude and non caring doctor. The dcotor then informed me they were sending us back out and we needed to wait again I asked how long as I wasn't happy to stay there any longer with my unwell child. The doctor then stated well some people have been waiting 4 hours and I needed to wait also. The doctor then asked us to wait in another area and try to encourage him to drink. The area the doctor asked us to sit was obviously where they were isolating people with vomiting bugs as all were being sick. So my already poorly child who you were obviously not bothered about is expected to then pick up other illnesses in a germ riddled waiting area.

No communication of the waiting time, poor customer service and rude unhelpful doctors. I work for the nhs and would be ashamed to ever treat a patient in this way.
