My daughter was referred by our gp and a few days later she received a phone call. The caller failed.to tell.my daughter that this was her assessment and after answering some questions the call ended. 2 days later she received a letter saying they had discharged her. My daughter was really upset as she felt she was not informed fully of.the implications of the call, she thought it was an initial contact and that she would get the opportunity to speak to someone face to face regarding her issues. The GP was not happy and rereferred her, whereupon she received another call, only to be told this time, that as she spends several days a week at university in Coventry which is 40 mims away and outside of their area, she should register with another gp and get a referral to a service there. This lack.of care to someone who is vulnerable is unacceptable and it seems that any excuse is used to discharge patients and avoid actually doing anything to help. It had taken a great deal of courage for her to ask for help in the first place so to be told twice that help was not going to be given was really distressing for her. A waste of time and my daughter feels thoroughly fobbed off and let down.
"poor service"
