It's not horrendous, but after suffering for well over a third of my life in pain, I am loosing my patience with people thinking they know more about my pain than I do. I feel often patronised by staff like I'm an idiot, not understood or feel that my medical conditions are valid. I have asked for referrals to specialists and been declined. I get treated as an addict not a patient and it hurts a lot to feel that you're basically expected to do these.things and then come off all your meds which is not the way this works for everyone. I've tried to attempt suicide because of the way pain patients are treated as a whole. We are not idiots, some of us are intelligent people and research our illness, therapies etc. The stigma and unwillingness to help pain patients has got to stop now.
