My stay in WCH for Total knee replacement .I was treated with dignity & respect the staff all very nice couldn't complain at all.The only problem was the wait before my op. I had to sit in a chair from 8.00 am. Until my op at 3.00 pm. 7 hours then you walk to the theatre from there. The single rooms are nice but there is no family room with a tv in.

But overall my stay was very good.

Thank you for sharing details of your recent stay in West Cumberland Hospital.

The teams work very hard to ensure patients are as comfortable as they can be when waiting for their surgery as they fully understand how nervous and anxious patients can be when coming into hospital and I am very sorry that you found the 7 hour wait in a chair uncomfortable.

The ‘new ‘ hospital accommodation does get mixed reviews with some patients appreciating the privacy that the single rooms allow, but may patients like yourself still miss a day room/TV room, and the company of fellow patients.

The staff will be very pleased to hear that overall you felt your stay was good and that you were treated with dignity and respect.

I will pass your comments to the ward manager so that they may share your review with the wider team.
