"Good anniversary"

About: Rampton Hospital / National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women

(as a service user),

Emerald B

The 10th anniversary celebration was good.

Nice to see all the  managers and Rosewood volunteers. Time to reflect on how people's time is spent here. I enjoyed the cakes. I danced with the Rosehips.

I am involved in my care - Recovery Care Plan. Happy with my named nurse.

Want to move to medium secure more quickly. I do swimming and gym. I would like to do cooking.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share this positive feedback about the 10th anniversary celebration of the National High Secure Mental Health Services for Women, your recovery care plan, the activities that you enjoy. Thank you also for letting us know that you would like to do cooking and want to move quicker to a medium secure unit.

The 10th anniversary celebration was a productive and fun way of showing how through co-production patients, frontline staff, managers, clinical teams and Involvement Centre volunteers make a real difference in improving experience of care and treatment. You and your colleagues were involved in the exploring, planning, preparing and hosting the event. In the feedback sessions many of you reported that you felt at ease with fully participating in the discussions and providing feedback. This has provided us with information and ideas for future events and to take forward to future carers’ events. It also demonstrated that co-production is very important to service design and delivery. So many ideas came out of the celebrations regarding how to take forward the service and good insight and information by clinicians and patients on how to ensure that care plans that are recovery-focused and patient-centred. I am delighted to hear that you are happy with your named nurse and that you are involved with your recovery care plan. You and your named nurse appear to have worked together to produce a recovery care plan to look beyond mere survival of mental health problems and moving towards achieving your own goals and aspirations. You appear to be so enthused and motivated that you are looking forward to moving quicker to a medium secure unit.

In addition to swimming and gym, there are many other leisure and therapy activities including cooking are offered by the Diamond Resource Centre with provides Day Care Services for Women. Please contact your named nurse or the Day Care Services Manager.

Wishing you continued involvement and positive experience of the National High Secure Mental Health Services for Women and that your desire to move a medium secure unit happens safely and when it is appropriate.

Thank You

Annett
