I was booked in for an elective Caesarian in April. The midwife was lovely and went with me to the theatre. I had the Caesarian section at the time given. Everything went well until my birthing partner had to go out of thetare. Whilst i was getting stitched up I was not able to hold my baby, the staff there were complaining that they don’t have time to hold the baby, to my understanding there is a midwife there to look after the baby after the delivery!!! Instead they were doing their paperwork.
Later on that evening I was taken to the ward, the ward was right at the back, the next morning I was forced by midwives to go make the babies feeds from the feeding room myself. The feeding room was situated right at the front of the unit. It was a long walk from my bed which took me at least 5-10 mins. Just after a cesarian that is a long walk. My baby was left crying and no health care assistant or midwife went to the baby.
