I was referred to see a surgeon regarding very bad pains in my groin and was informed that I need a hip replacement as it had not grown properly. As I had not heard anything after 4 months I contacted and was told to wait. I went to my doctor and they sent another letter to the hospital again I chased the and was given a date but still had to wait a further 5 weeks which was up yesterday. I had put everything into place and had taken all my leave for this year as I would have been off, my husband had booked his holiday off to look after me. I am already on anti depressants due to stress. Then at 4pm the night before my op I had a call to say that it had been cancelled. I was given another appointment in 4 weeks time and was told that this appointment maybe still be cancelled as it is the winter to. My point is that the hospitals should say that no appointments should be given over the winter period as all the are doing is stressing patients out by keep cancelling. How long do I have to be in such pain before anything is done?
