What I liked
I had my first baby born in the West Mid Maternity Unit. I could not praise the hospital high enough! My labour was not easy, and although I started in the natural birth center, which is utterly brilliant, I had to be transferred to the hospital. I was pleasantly surprised by the doctors and nurses team work during labour itself, my midwife in the natural birth centre was caring and professional. Also, intern has asked to assist in labour, I didn't mind, and she was so brilliant and supportive! She even moved with me from natural birth centre to the hospital and stayed and helped till the baby was born! I am so grateful to her!
I have stayed in the hospital for two nights after birth, and the after-care was brilliant. Only once I had quite grumpy midwife in the night shift, but it can not really influence my overall impression and experience. I was under Richmond ward care during labour, so thank you very much!
What could be improved
I have stayed in the privat room for the aftercare, and the room was extremely hot. Otherwise everything was great.Patient careWardMaternityDoctorsMidwifeNursing staffTemperature
