My mother who is now 90 years of age had a ring pessary inserted six months ago.She had an appointment last week to have a new one fitted. When the old one was removed she was told that the area is to sore to put a new pessary in and that the old one was left in to long and that it should be changed every three or four months not six.
She was prescribed a pessary to insert herself for four weeks. She had a reaction to this causing bad bleeding and pain in her leg ,arm and stomach.
When she phoned the hospital she was told by the consultants secretary there’s no one to deal with it phone your own doctor.
My mother was prescribed a cream by her own doctor.Nevertheless she has been in great discomfort since the day she visited the hospital.
Being without the ring pessary she needs has left her running to the toilet frequently .Now she is frightened to go out and hasn’t been out since the visit to the hospital and has no plan to go out until her next appointment which is now over three weeks away.
No wonder the NHS is in the state it’s in when patients are treated like this.
No wonder Whipps Cross hospital hasn’t got a very good reputation.
