"Treated well but slow to receive medication for Parkinsons"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

At first the hospital did not fully understand the situation about getting medication and they had to be reminded on a few occasions. After that, however, I would say that experiences in relation to getting medication on time were good for 3 out of a 6 week stay.

Unfortunately the patient was unable to manage taking their own medication as they were hospitalised after a fall, so getting the medication on time should have been a high priority. Due to frozen feet the patient suffered further falls as there was nothing to hold onto get trying to walk, however they were given walking sticks.

I can see you shared your experience on Patient Opinion some time ago.

I am sorry that your experience was not as positive as you and we would have liked. We have only recently started working with Patient Opinion so please accept our apologies in not getting back to you at the time. If you have any further feedback about the experience you described please get in touch.

We are keen to listen to stories of patients and carers and, going forward, we plan to respond quickly to all stories we are alerted to from now on.

Best wishes
