I have been treated both as an inpatient and outpatient for severe depression. The service from my GP has been outstanding, supportive, encouraging, affirming. I could not imagine better care.
But over the past four and a half years, I have been seen in outpatient re medication etc by at least six different consultants/locums ( usually at three monthly intervals, or thereabouts) making continuity of care virtually impossible.
I just wonder why the local primary care trust seems to have such difficulty in attracting, and more importantly retaining, senior staff in the mental health sector.
