"3 year old has been waiting 3 hours in A&E!!"

About: Royal United Hospital / Accident and emergency

My 3 year old nephew fell from a slide at nursery and banged his head.

He was very drowsy,vomiting,uncoordinated and unable to do basic tasks for his age.

He has currently been waiting for 3 hours in A&E and has not been seen by anyone!He arrived at 5.30pm

While I appreciate that you are overstretched and understaffed and will deem other cases more urgent,a 3 hour wait for a child of his age at this time of night is unacceptable!!

I do not have a high opinion of the RUH anyway and this just confirms that it is getting worse instead of better.

I am sorry to read that you were unhappy with the waiting time in the Emergency Department. Our goal is always to provide the most appropriate care to our patients.
