"Out of Hours visit"

About: Douglas Street Community Health Clinic NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

Late one Friday night a few weeks ago I quickly developed swelling on my face and neck. I have had some serious health issues over the last 8 months leaving me on 24 hour oxygen. I called Nhs 24 as I really didn't want to attend A&E or leave it until Monday for my GP. The call handler was very helpful and supportive and I received a call back asking me to attend OOHs centre in Douglas Street in Hamilton.

The directions given were very helpful and we sadly arrived late for our appointment, as we travelled 30+ miles but the staff were expecting us and took me straight away. The staff were friendly, professional and thorough with the care and attention I received. The nurse took the time to listen to to my problem, assess, reassure me and my wife and treat me with antibiotics. At no time did I feel we were being rushed or attending a busy over night service. Thank you for looking after me ladies. Fantastic service with a caring and professional nursing team.
