"Amazing care and surgeon at Queens Medical Centre"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as the patient),

In May 2010, I had a light stroke after a fall and spent 6 months in the hospital undergoing 5 operations. The Hospital care was amazing. Some Nurses were good and others were not the best but the good ones made me feel cared for.

The surgeon was phenomenal, I had a totally shattered hip due to the stroke / fall and the surgeon made me walk again. All hopes of me walking again was lost but he assured me he would make me walk again and that was totally what he did. I can always trust him with my life.

I found the food horrendous. I felt it was was so bad I lived on salads and that was what kept me going. That wasn't a problem to me because it was a hospital and I wasn't expecting a feast. I had my privacy and was able to do what I wanted to do.

Originally from Germany I think that the aftercare in England is amazing. Somebody calls in 2-3 times a week to see me. I am very grateful.
