I have recently had my third baby at this hospital. I was meant to have a planned section but my waters broke 3 weeks early.
I had the most terrifying experience. I was reassured that when ever I went into active labour I would be given the emergency section that had been planned. I was placed on the wrong ward, 205 and left on that ward with 3 other women to labour to 10cm and pushing on my own. I wasn't checked on, I had to beg for pain relief and to be checked. They said my husband couldn't be with me as it was a ward. I was left till pushing to rush me to theatre where my husband missed the birth of our child. I lost a litre of blood and was not given a transfusion. I can honestly say it was the worst expert of my life, I was terrified, lonely and in a lot of pain. I have has 2 previously traumatic labours he seems the planned section. . The day care on the ward wasn't any better, they were hours late with pain relief and didn't come for sometime half an hour when I buzzed. The hand over for medicine to take home was poor and I had to call them back in to ask what I needed to take and when.
Overall an awful experience.
