"Treated Appaulingly"

About: Queen's Hospital / Maternity care

My sister gave birth yesterday. She had myself and her husband as her birthing partners. Her midwife was superb luckily but every other person she cam in contact wktb her before and after were appauling! The organisation, skills and politeness was discusting. One midwife wouldn’t let her husband in because he wasn’t aware she had moved into the labour ward so didn’t know her room number leaving him no choice but to home and I had to speak to them to let him back in so he didn’t miss the birth. The nurse before she got moved down into labour hurt my sister so much while examining. After she had baby they were no help down on the ward, she is trying to breast feed and no one was trying to help her leaving her breaking down in tears wbhile baby was crying. In the morning the nurse came round and said she could leave filling out the discharge papers telling her she could go home, she saf waiting for someone to take her canular out the nurse said they had forgot. The went home and literally walkedthrough the door being called and told noone checked the baby over and they need to go back and shouldn’t have left the hospital. It seems that the midwives and good but all the other nurses who don’t speak very clear english making it hard to understand are just not good enough. I have never been to this hospital apart from yesterday for my sister and we have all sworm to never come to this hospital again! Considering my sister and her baby was in their hands the service (apart from one midwife) was not good enough!!
