I have been a patient of this dept since the early 80's.
I have seen enormous progress over the years - less waiting times and more information passed on to the patient for a start. I have had 7 operations for joint problems and have always been treated respectfully and with the utmost understanding and kindness.
No system is perfect and the NHS is vastly understaffed and underfunded but each member of staff I have met from cleaners to consultants have been exemplary.
Especially one particular consultant!!
I get so angry with the petty fault finding and I can only think that patients who have not been given enough attention are maybe not in need of any medical help.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the standard of food, and the cleanliness of the wards.
OK we can all think of something that could have been improved but realistically when is a hospital of this size ever going to be perfect.
Maybe we should stop looking for problems and count ourselves very lucky that we have such a wonderful NHS.
Thank you to all at QA for the care I have had over the years.
"Excelllent care"
