"Excellent care from the Pain Clinic"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Pain Management

I came on to this when looking up the 'phone number of the Pain Clinic and read the poor review. I can't believe this is about the same team I see. I have been attending the Pain Clinic for many years following a RTA which resulted in a damaged back. I have always been treated with care and respect. They are remarkably cheerful especially when you consider they see ill and disabled people all day. Many have depression as well as their physical problems.

I have injections and denervations which are extremely painful, but give me relief. I hate to think what my life would be like without them. The staff know me by name - I just rang them and a member of staff remembered me straight away. Only caring people would do that. Yes, you do have to wait to be seen sometimes - surely that is because they give every patient the time and treatment they need. I think that is worth the wait. I can't praise them enough. A truly wonderful bunch of people!

I am pleased that you are happy with the service you receive. On occasions systems do not operate as effectively as we would wish and understandably patients can be unhappy .

Making us aware of the problems helps us to make changes but

being told when things are going well is equally important. Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your satisfaction and for your very supportive comments

Kind Regards

Christine Longstaff on behalf of the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust
