"Endoscopy procedure"

About: Glenfield Hospital

I visited the glenfield hospital on Saturday 11 November 17 for an Endoscopy procedure. I was extremely anxious due to previous bad experience at another hospital where a simple routine procedure had resulted in emergency surgery and 8 weeks off work!!! This experience could not have been more different. I had been referred as an urgent case by my GP so did not have much time to prepare myself. From the moment the lovely nurse took me through all the way through the procedure I could not fault the amazing staff in this department ward 25E. I was made to feel that I really mattered, that my worries and concerns really mattered so much patience and caring was shown, true bedside manner and the NHS at its best. I was down for sedation for the procedure due to what had happened previously but because of the experience, support, knowledge and how everything was explained by the team I decided not to at the last minute. The endoscopist and the nurses were amazing time was not an issue I wasn't a number I was a human being that mattered. I cannot praise this team highly enough and yes whilst it is not a pleasant procedure to have I would not hesitate to recommend anyone else that needs to have this procedure to this team at glenfield. Thank you so much
