"Lovely hospital"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Accident and emergency

I have had 3 admissions since December 2016. The Doctors and nurses have been brilliant in caring for me. I feel though that better planning could be done to enable a patient to be discharged as soon as possible. My experiences have been that the iron infusion were left to the last day. In my last admission the iron infusion was missed out when it could have been done on the morning of when I was discharged. This now mean I have to do a return trip to the hospital which cost me, and the hospital time and money.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent experience at Dorset County Hospital. I am so pleased to hear that on the whole, the care you receive has been good and that you are happy with the hospital.

It is a bit disappointing therefore when issues such as your iron infusion being missed out mean that you then have to make yet another trip to the hospital which could have been avoided, and I would like to offer my apologies for this delay. If you could let me know which ward you were on I will make sure that they are aware of your feedback. I can be contacted either via email at becky.Protopsaltis@dchft.nhs.uk or via telephone on 01305 254786.

Many thanks,

Becky Protopsaltis
