I had an appointment at Stonehouse Audiology to have my ear investigated.
On entry at the hospital I was amazed at the cleanliness of the waiting room. At the reception desk I handed over my letter - though wasn't entirely made to feel welcome by the staff member in attendance, who could do with a little tuition on smiling and making a person feel comfortable. (This was the same impression my sister had when she had attended, although I was not aware of this until I was telling her about my own experience.)
However, after the initial ' checking in' things changed considerably! The nurse who attended to me was so pleasant and attentive in her manner... the doctor was so courteous and made me feel so much at ease that I felt as though I was being treated in a Private Clinic rather than a NHS one.
The walls and floors were gleaming with cleanliness and it was such a pleasure to experience a hospital visit where I could not detect any fault whatsoever in my treatment or in the surroundings. I feel the staff should make a video which should be shown to staff in other hospitals and let them all see just how easy it is to be naturally civil and understanding and still maintain a splendid standard of competency without looking as though it took great effort!
Congratulations to all staff at Stonehouse Hospital - you are a credit to the service you represent! Thanks for the pleasant experience!
