"Alderney Hospital, Guensey Ward,"

If your loved one, mother, sister or relative has the misfortune to be admitted to this place the only advice I can give you is to watch them like a hawk. Never take your eyes off the fake smiling staff, un-carers not helping the poor old ladies.

They are not there to nurse them, they are there to help themselves. That is all well and good if your relative is reasonably strong and stands a chance of rehabilitation whether or not attending this awful place.

Wheel the old dears into bed before Coronation Street comes on, only saw the telly on once, never any music.

I counted 3 excellent staff members, the rest I would not employ in this vocation, they should be working elsewhere.

Not a good place, we learnt of its terrible reputation after it was too late, to conclude, if you are reasonably strong and have a measure of self preservation about you, you will survive but if not, if you are frail, ill, infected and old you are in trouble here.

I am very sorry and disappointed to read the concerns you have raised about the care on Guernsey ward.

Clearly we need to fully understand these and the ward sister, Precious Whild, would be grateful if you could contact her directly so that she can discuss this further with you.

With best wishes,

Agnes Grip, Patient Experience Facilitator
