"Yet another failure by the new 'improved'..."

About: The Shirley Health Partnership

I moved to shirley in 2007, my 1st surgery i registered with was grove road. When i actually needed an appointment as i was i'll and off work i couldn't get one, would have to wait 3 weeks!!

So, i promptly moved surgeries, that afternoon, to regents park and was offered an appointment that very day.

What a breath of fresh air and relief this was, they actually did what a doctors surgery should do and listened!!

I stayed there until recently when the two surgeries have now joined together and as such i have been transferred back to the one i originally left due to the incompetance and general rudeness of anyone there.

Since being transferred i have not once been able to simply order my repeat prescription and go home with my medication. Not once.

Yesterday was yet again another example that no one has a clue what they're doing.

I have last month signed up to the online prescription collection service, crazy thought that a computer would not screw up. But no.

The pharmacy had put in the required forms a week ago, so i was due to pick everything up on the 26th, so went in on 27th so it gave even an extra day just in case.

No prescription there.

They called the surgery.

Apparently it hadn't been placed in their basket to collect and some of it was being refused too???

Confirmed they are still open, they ask, told 6.30.

Jump in the van, drive down the high street, 5 mins later met with a closed door.

Reception staff are there, they've just been on the phone!!

Actually wandering around doing whatever they are doing but ignoring the person at the door.

Rang the bell.

Again rang the bell.

Again rang the bell a few times.

Then rang the bell without letting go until the person came to the door.

They're closed i get told.

They cannot open the door as their insurance doesn't cover it. So now i am having to shout through the glass to get myself heard by the person the other side of the door who's talking quietly so i can't hear properly!!

Gets worse still.

They accidently moved too close to the door, so the sensor picked them up and opened the door!! Yay!!! Don't now feel like an imbecile!!

Another person comes over now.

Assesses whats going on but cannot tell me anything as they have no idea.

Takes my details for the person who deals with prescriptions to ring me back in the morning, they get in at 9.15 so i should expect a phone call at 9.30. Is this a suitable time i'm asked. Yes. Perfect. Cannot do anything else but at least we may solve the problem the next day.

Today is the next day.

Its now 12.52 and i am still waiting for a magic phonecall that will sort out my medications and explain why every single thing that happens to do with this surgery is so dam difficult and overcomplicated.
