Response from Patrick Mulcahy, Head of Clinical Development, Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about our service. We aim to respond to emergencies as quickly as possible and have a target of an 8 minute response for all life-threatening emergencies. This target is agreed nationally and is based on assessment of clinical risks for an agreed list of accident types. We recognise that every minute is important, especially if you are either the patient or a bystander and always strive to attend as quickly as possible. I am glad that on this occasion were able to respond with 5 minutes, within target, giving the patient every chance, not just of surviving but of making a good recovery
