My husband and I have spent the last two days with our daughter (and her partner) who was in need of urgent neurosurgery. This has been a worrying time and she is not out of the woods yet, but I felt impelled to give feedback on the wonderful staff in QMC. Without fail every time we appeared in a corridor looking a little dazed, needing to find our way somewhere, a member of staff would stop and ask if they could help in directing us anywhere. This is not medical training, but is just incredibly kind and human. It was nurses, ward support staff, consultants, people delivering post, security, volunteers, everyone! Credit to you all. It is sad that our services, hospitals being one that we experience more often at distressing times in our lives, are suffering from lack of funds (the cleanliness of QMC was less than perfect) but I am left feeling optimistic that there are still people who still want to work helping others. You deserve all the funding that our taxes can provide to you and shame on people who don’t pay their share.
