Am currently house sitting in Hertford (I live in London) but have had an extremely sore throat (can't swallow as it feels like razor blades) for a week now.
Consulted the NHS website which said there was a walk-in clinic at Hertford County Hospital. Dragged myself out of bed to walk to the hospital, only to be greeted by the receptionist who rolled their eyes, spat "speak up" at me, and then furiously told me that I shouldn't rely on the internet because the clinic had been closed for years. Fair enough, so I asked the reception to please direct me to somewhere that did have a clinic. They wrote 111 on a piece of paper, shove down it at me, and just said "call this".
I understand it's frustrating to have people turn up for a clinic that no longer exists, but it was hard enough to get myself to the hospital feeling so awful and not knowing the area, a little compassion wouldn't have hurt them in the slightest!
