"Dr and CPN support that changed my life."

About: Vista Road Locality Unit / CMHT Newton & Haydock

(as the patient),

Approximateley 6 years ago, my life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Bi-polar. I went on to suffer four years in "the wilderness" as a succession of Doctors kept me "well" with heavy cocktails of drugs that had me listless, unable to think straight and with zero quality of life. Then a minor miracle occurred for me, when, first I was given a wonderful new CPN at Vista Rd Locality and secondly a Doctor that completely changed my life.

At last, someone who would listen to me, I can't praise the Dr and CPN of Vista Rd Locality high enough. Through working with me, they have helped me manage my bi-polar with the least amount of drugs.

I find I can discuss any concerns I have and I am listened to and made to feel my views are important.

I no longer fear my illness, they have helped me to understand it better, and I feel I have my life back.

A huge thank you to the DR, CPN and the Vista Rd Locality Team.

Dear Vaness

Firstly thank you for taking the time to post your opinion, it does mean a lot to us. As the Operational Business Manager for St Helens I am very pleased to hear that you have had a positive experience and have valued the services from Vista Road Newton and Haydock CMHT. I am sorry to hear that for some years you experienced difficulty in finding professionals that would listen to you. Listening is the most important thing we have to offer and this approach by your doctor and CPN as obviously hepled you to manage your BiPolar Disorder in a positive and meaningful way.

I will be sure to let the CMHT know that you have made this posting and I am sure they will be very happy with the comments you have made.

Wishing you all the very best , have a merry christmas.

Regards

Julie Clarke

It was great to hear your story on here. Half the trouble can be getting someone who understands. We are fellow sufferers of mental health problems and recently opened a online forum which is supported by the NHS. Here we can chat to others in a similar situation. It can be hard as family don't always understand and so when you get the help you grab it with both hands. I am really pleased you are getting support. Take Care Calsie - houseboundforums.com
