I am extremely concerned about my friend who has been admitted to Inpatient Psychiatric care at in Sheffield, he has suicidal tendencies and is continually depressed. To my alarm the doctor/ psychologist is already discussing sending him home ( where he will be on his own )
He has been dosed with antidepressants, in my opinion it doesn't matter what state he is in when asked how he is he will smile and say " I am fine and very well " I am concerned that the Psychiatrist may have decided, good our treatment has been successful we will consider discharging him shortly.
He has no money has stopped working.
All friends and relations are at arms length.
When your feeling low with no money I cannot imagine what it must be like to have to apply for benefit and even contemplate it when your feeling suicidal. Who is going to care at the Benefit Office, i feel they just quote rules and regulations
I feel that he is now at his most vulnerable and it is suggested he is going to be turned out just before Christmas - of all times.
In my view nothing has been done to boost his self esteem and self worth, he is extremely intelligent and is a valued friend but there seems to have been no concentration on the areas in which he needs help.
I hope someone sees this message and will be able to offer some constructive assistance to my friend who has a lot to offer in life but appears to have lost all hope of anything. I will be very surprised if there is even a response to this but perhaps someone out there will restore my faith in human nature...............
