I had a vbac at the Royal Oldham hospital. Since having my previous c section, many others and I had many doubts whether I would be able to deliver a baby naturally and the thought of a repeat c section was terrifying.
Shortly after labour pains I was admitted onto antenatal ward. I was feeling every emotion possible but mostly fears. The midwives were super supportive through my pain and the doctors were so encouraging.
After a chat with doctors on my progress, I had full faith from them that I was doing well, that gave me the courage I needed. On labour ward the staff were beyond amazing. I always had a niggling doubt that any chance now I will be rushed to theatre because my labour is taking so long. However to my surprise my midwifes were so supportive and I had the best doctors popping in and out making sure I was ok and never stopped encouraging.
With the support of these amazing people and an inner strength I never thought I had, I managed to deliver my baby naturally without any problems. Since being on postnatal ward, I struggled to settle in with poor babies and crying babies around.
The midwife in charge was happy to help and put me in my own room. I feel I have had the best rest I needed and am being really looked after. I will be going home fully energised and super satisfied with my stay. I will actually miss the lovely faces I met. I do thank Royal Oldham for looking after me so well.
