"A and E"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

We can all appreciate how busy the A&E Dept can get at times, and sympathise with the staff being busy due to shortages, so can you show some empathy for the people who have to sit for over 9hrs and at least supply chairs that are going to be comfortable for prolonged periods of time. Also, is it right that basic examinations are carried out in the waiting area with people looking on and hearing what is being discussed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback.

As you may have noticed we are in the process of expanding the A&E at the William Harvey Hospital, this will include waiting areas and more clinical areas.

I am sorry you experienced seeing an examination in the waiting area, we try to avoid this, however, it is really difficult when the department is very busy.

We do at all time ensure we maintain patients dignity and respect. Kind regards.
