"Cat bite injury ..."

About: Broomfield Hospital / Accident and emergency

Having received Marvellous care and attention after a deep cat bite - I was admitted for treatment which was exemplary- apart from a few surly agency staff - antibiotics didn’t solve the infection so on Friday night I had surgery to my right hand - all went well but they couldn’t supply me with a sling as they didn’t have one in the entire hospital |||| I have to keep my arm elevated so a kind. Nurse made a sling from a pillowcase- attached to a cannula stand !!! Fine if standing but not good when sitting or laying down !

Absolutely disgusting that a hospital of this size doesn’t have a sling |||

Dear Sandy

Thank you for the feedback about your experience of A&E. I am so sorry that some of the agency staff were surly following what had been marvelous care. I am amazed that there was not a sling available for you. I will forward your feedback to the Matrons of A&E to investigate further.

Best wishes

Jonathan - Patient Experience
