"In-patient Experience"

About: Scarborough General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

Our 86 year old mum with advanced Alzheimers was admitted through A & E on two occasions in August and September 2017 to Lilac, Maple and Oak Wards.

Although mum eventually passed away, we feel it is important to give our thanks to all the fabulous surgical, medical and nursing staff.

The standard of care was excellent and she was treated with great kindness and dignity.

As three daughters, we were involved in all treatment decisions and we continue to be grateful that mum was given every opportunity possible.

Can't praise everyone enough.

Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Firstly please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mum at this very sad time.

I am pleased to hear about your mum's experience within our Emergency and Elderly Medicine teams at Scarborough Hospital, it's great to hear that mum was treated with kindness and dignity throughout and that you were involved in all treatment decisions.

We are very proud of our staff and we know that they always strive to provide the best service to our patients; it's great to get feedback from our patients reflecting this.

Wishing you all the best
