"Discharge waiting times"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

(as the patient),

As a recent patient I noticed that from the time a doctor says a patient can go home to that patient actually going home is 4-5 hours from a ward. So it seems obvious to me why A&E are holding ambulances.  In my particular instance it was because the doctor had failed to relay down, to the nurse looking after me, their desire for me to go home.
