"Excellent care for my young daughter"

About: North Manchester General Hospital

My daughter was admitted to NMGH on Sunday morning following a visit to the walk in centre, as she had a suspected chest infection and low oxygen levels. The staff at the hospital were fantastic, and were able to answer all my questions about what was happenings and what treatment would be.

At one point we were cleared to go home, but a fantastic nurse did a final check on my daughter's breathing, oxygen levels and heart rate and realised that she would need to stay overnight and be monitored and given oxygen. I am so grateful to this nurse as, without them, we would have been at home or at school and my daughter could have become very ill indeed.

Once we were on the ward, the staff were all fab, looking after my daughter and the other patients. They took the time to get ton know her, and reassure her about the oxygen mask, seeing if she would prefer a different one, showing her how it worked. There were play staff who came onto the wards to play with the children, and my daughter had a great time, despite being ill.

Despite being overstretched, and without enough equipment such as monitors, they were amazing, and I am so grateful to them all.
