What could be improved
Extremely poor treatment of patients by 99 per cent of the staff - Hailsham 4. An obvious culture in the ward that patients are treatedlike second class citizens. Patients ignored, buzzers ignored, drip alarms left bleeping for hours at a time. One time 5 staff were atthe desk chatting, the phone was ringing not answered, 3 drip alarms were bleeping , one patient in obviuos distress and pain and not one nurse left the station to help, answer the phone etc. Night staff on 2 occasions ignored unwell patients, did not complete obs papers until the end of the shift, even though 4 hourly obs were ordered. Nurses completely ignored patients, no communication, dignity or respect. The few dedicated nurses were the saving grace. The NHS and nurses with no conscience should be ashamed. A complaint will be forthcoming in writing
Anything else?
Employ staff who are working for the care and health of the patient. Employ staff that are able to communicate with pattients and be civil and polite.
NHS should place under cover pattents and identify the staff that are not there for the patients care. They should be held accountable for their lack of compassion, care and civility. Why are the NHS paying staff who obviously have no place dealing with the sick, injured, elderly or infirm?
"Very upsetting, distressing, frightening..."
