"Very late referrals sent by doctor"

About: Dr Degun & Dr Macaulay

I was seen by the doctor as un urgert appointement as i have multiple lumps on my breast, the doctor have seen me on 18th of May 2016, they said on the appointment that they're going to send the referral to the breast clinic that day as my breast were hurting, they told me just to wait for the appoitment letter to be sent at home. After 2 weeks still i received no letter, called the surgery again asking why i havent received any letter, staff said they would investigate and call again the following day.. The following day i called again, apparently the doctor has sent my letter on the 30th of May!!!! Thats 2 weeks after our appointment!

This is ridiculous, clearly there is no sense of urgency with their processes! I have then to call basildon cancer clinic on my own just to make sure that the referral letter was really sent, the cancer clinic said that it would take them 2 weeks to put me on the list for a scan. If the doctor have sent it on that day that they said they were going send it, i wouldnt have sleepless nights wondering the worst things that could happen!

Its no wonder why the A and E is always full, people dont beleive thier gp anymore and how they manage their referrals. This has to change!!

Some authority body has to look into this!
