"Why aren't children prioritized?"

About: Thurrock Health Centre

Not surprised by all the bad reviews regarding Thurrock Health Centre as they've been that way for years.

When myself or my missus have been unwell in the past, we used to constantly call them from 7.56am for an appt. Then when we finally got through (usually about 8.10am) we were always told that all appts had gone and we would have to use walk-in. How can all appts go in about 10 mins?

Now they've scrapped the walk-in you have to book an appt. What do you think happened when I tried the same thing with my 3 year old daughter who has a skin rash/inflammation all over her forearm and on her knee and hand? You guessed it. I was told all appts had gone and to call back at 1pm

Considering our family has history for skin conditions, my eldest daughter for example is with Great Ormond St Hosp as she has scleroderma which was diagnosed too late resulting in her arm never going to be fully grown and her middle finger being her shortest, it would've been nice for the receptionist to at least ask the family history question but no, we're told no available appts and call back later.

While i'm sure my daughters rash/inflammation isn't as serious as something like meningitis, surely all children should be prioritized first. This isnt the first time its happened with our daughters either but at least there was the walk-in to use at the time. I doubt it would be even worth complaining to the manager. Based on the service received I assume I'll just get fobbed off again. Seriously considering to leave this practice. Extremely poor.
