My wife has recently had a lumpectomy on her right breast, and her consultant has recommended at least 6 weeks off work. However her doctor obviously knows better and has refused to issue a certificate for the period required as apparently the wound is healing. The doctor has made this decision without an examination. How does the doctor know how the healing process is going?
This is unacceptable, and causing unnecessary stress. My wife is still unable to perform some normal daily tasks, and certainly is not ready to return to work, which involves a large amount of physical activity.
This is not the first time we've had to raise concerns about him; the doctor previously gave my wife someone else's prescription, which obviously could have had disastrous consequences.
I have been a patient at this surgery for many years, and these incidents are not exactly confidence inspiring.
If this matter is not resolved I will be taking it further.
"..hopeless"
