My daughter attended James Cook University Hospital as both a day case and inpatient and i have to say that the day surgery ward and the childrens surgery ward she stayed on were amazing.
The care and attention we all received was wonderful and very reassuring. She had a big surgery and we were really worried about the anaesthetic multiple times and how she would react but they all helped to keep her smiling and entertained.
The day surgery unit staff were all wonderful and when we returned with her post surgery for some clips removed they remembered her and were just as attentive.
The ward staff were very accommodating to our rather large family and didn't complain that there was always someone knocking to visit, i think i would have gotten fed up.
All in all i just wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone who works on these units and the anaesthetic teams including nurses who were also such a big support. Keep the good work up.
